Wayne Richard Lamarre, M.Ed., LAT, ATC

Professor Lamarre began his career in 1992 as an Athletic Trainer working in outpatient orthopedic sports rehabilitation clinics and public/private high schools. He has been teaching at the college level for over 25 years in subject areas such as athletic and orthopedic injury diagnosis, therapeutic modalities, rehabilitative intervention following musculoskeletal injury, general medical conditions affecting the physically active, pharmacological considerations in athletics, and ethical practice in an interprofessional healthcare model.
He has athletic training experience that spans the sporting continuum and includes the treatment of adolescent, high school, collegiate, olympic, and professional patients; and he remains active in the profession through per diem coverage, professional development, and leadership roles with the Maine Athletic Trainers’ Association. His current areas of interest are performance medicine, teaching critical thinking, and the expansion of career opportunities for entry-level athletic trainers. Most recently, Prof. Lamarre served on the medical staff for the U.S. Women's National Ice Hockey Team, accompanying them to national and international competitions, including the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China.
Prof. Lamarre is an avid reader and outdoorsman, and he thoroughly enjoys all of the wonderful hiking, biking, running, skiing, fishing, camping, and golfing opportunities that Maine and New England have to offer. Most importantly, he is a loving husband and the proud father of three children.
