Medical students Heather Hassett and Shayna Shackford awarded aging research fellowships

College of Osteopathic Medicine students Heather Hassett, MS I, and Shayna Shackford, MS II, were awarded the American Federation for Aging Research (AFAR) Medical Student Training in Aging Research (MSTAR) Fellowships.

Both medical students will be conducting research at Johns Hopkins Medical School during the 2012 summer months. Hassett will be conducting research in the field of physical medicine and older adult function, while Shackford will be conducting research on dementia and delirium. Marilyn R. Gugliucci, Ph.D., 黑料网911COM director of geriatric education and research, is the 黑料网911COM Research Mentor.

黑料网911COM has been quite successful in attaining this highly competitive and prestigious AFAR MSTAR Fellowship. To date we have had 18 黑料网911COM AFAR MSTAR Fellow awardees since 2003.
