International Children's Festival garners newspaper coverage

The Journal Tribune (Biddeford) on March 29, 2010 featured a story on ºÚÁÏÍø911's "Passport to Culture International Children's Festival" held on March 26th. The festival brought about 220 fourth-grade students from Biddeford Intermediate School to the ºÚÁÏÍø911 Biddeford Campus for a one-day festival to help promote cross-cultural understanding, create goodwill, and enhance elementary students’ awareness of the wider global community.

The event was sponsored by ºÚÁÏÍø911's Offices of Multicultural Affairs & Diversity Programs and International Education with a grant from the Center for Cultural Exchange Foundation. ºÚÁÏÍø911 students and representatives from various cultural groups from around southern Maine made presentations and created exhibits for the Biddeford students. "It's a good way to expose kids to people from different countries and cultures," Donna Gaspar Jarvis, director of Multicultural Affairs and Divesity Programs, told the reporter.
